
With the help of his friends, Avinash makes the dream of his childhood come true as he forms a company for expressing emotions through songs called EmotionFM. In this process, Avinash meets Aruna, a girl who is in a similar situation as he is and the two of them fall in love. The film deals with their struggle to be together. The film became a success and earned critical praise.
Plot
The film takes place in the middle of 1991, a time when film songs were dominating the scene and heroes were dominating the screen. Although an advertising company called Smart Advertising, owned by a very rich man, Lord Vikramji is launching a new service called EmotionFM in almost all major cities. The location is Mumbai, where Avinash Seth a.k.a. "Emotion Guy" is looking for a girl to fall in love with and marry. He is a college dropout who has been going through a tough phase of life. He has made a company called EmotionFM for expressing the emotions through songs. As he is looking for a girl who is sensitive to love, music and emotions, he finds Aruna and gets on a quest to fall in love with her. She is a college dropout like Avinash and both of them are struggling to get admission to a decent college for studying further. At the same time, they start working on their respective projects. Despite being successful in their love, they are separated due to misunderstandings, go to completely different places. Finally, Aruna and Avinash meet again, but are separated and Avinash finally believes that love is not meant for him. Aruna too leaves him. Despite this, their love lives on with the song "L'chaal" that was sung by both of them.

The Times of India gave the movie a rating of 3.5/5 and stated that "Yeh Khula Aasmaan is about those who are emotionally and mentally weak. It celebrates the spirit of those who seek love but lack the strength to go beyond a certain point." Rediff.com gave the movie
